My clients wanted their home to feel more casual and comfortable but still display an elegant warmth by allowing in more light and the beautiful view of the river as it became a part of the artwork.

When the homeowners purchased their new home, there was very little they wanted to bring with them. We basically started from scratch to create a warm, elegant and inviting look for the family’s lifestyle. They both have exquisite taste and knew what they wanted their home to look like, making my job a little easier. They love wallpaper and chose beautiful designs for each of the bathrooms. They have a large family, cooking and entertains a lot and there are always at least a handful of teenagers hanging around. We wanted the home to have as much seating as possible for relaxing conversation, impromptu musical concerts and dining. The media room (the Superman Room) was the inspiration of the Dad and his love of DC comics. This became the space where the teenagers love to hang out.

Retired and ready to move into the next phase of their life, these homeowners wanted a bright and comfortable new look. Walls were painted, sofa recovered and a few new pieces were added along with blinds and window treatments. One of my favorite things in this home is the beautiful grasscloth wall covering we added to one wall in the foyer and dining area bringing texture, color and warmth to the space. I think the front porch is the favorite of the homeowner, using beautiful and very comfortable furniture from Southern Classics (my favorite outdoor furniture line)

My clients wanted to upgrade their basement space to meet their needs for family gatherings and entertaining. We embraced the beautiful slate floor and existing leather furniture to create a slightly rustic space with a contemporary flair accenting with family’s art collection. We added rock to the brick fireplace, created a rustic beam by covering an unsightly structural beam with a rustic shiplap. The shiplap was also used to cover the unsightly brick on the existing bar. New barstools, comfortable chairs and a game table complete the look.
Northshore Chattanooga, Tennessee
From dull and dated to glitz and glam. This client wanted the obvious and much needed update to her Northshore home. She wanted it filled with lots of sparkle, from the elegant light fixture to the sparkle in the quartz countertops and crystal cabinet pulls.
Westfield, Indiana
What a fun project this was… Designing in Indiana for a vet who graduated from UT Vet School…. Go Vols. In doubling the size of her practice Dr. King acquired much needed additional space. We decided to use brighter colors, lots of fun artwork and of course Tennessee Orange with a slightly rustic, farmhouse look. In the main reception area we kept the church pew, a family piece, and added bright blue wicker chairs and bright fabric pillows to pull all the colors together. We had custom table kiosks built by an artisan in Springfield Tennessee to be a more welcoming area for clients, furry as well as their humans. Each of the exam rooms were painted a different color with different themes. The conference room is presided over by a picture of Smokey the Cow. Special attentions was paid to the flooring with a commercial vinyl, wood look plank that is easily cleanable. I had a lot of fun with this project…. wonderful people to work with.

This was a great project with truly wonderful homeowners. The original furnishings were dark and heavy. The original contractor had not completed the stacked stone on the fireplace to the dismay of the homeowners. Stone was matched and added to the sides to complete the look of a real stone fireplace. A faux beam was added to the ceiling to add interest. We replaced the heavy leather furnishings with something a little lighter in color and feel. I added blinds and window treatments to add texture, color and privacy. A truly beautiful, cozy home in the mountains.

Old Town Carmel, Indiana
Another fun project with an dear old client, working with their contractor from the ground up on a new build in Old Town Carmel. Incorporating some items from their previous home we added to and updated the look for their new home complete with woven blinds, paneled curtains and a few pieces of new furniture. Beautiful patio furniture was added to the porch to surround the much needed fireplace for the cold Indiana weather.

Beautiful attorney’s office overlooking downtown Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain. My client wanted an elegant but comfortable office for herself as well as clients and coworkers that might drop in. We accomplished this with a dramatic use of color in the artwork as well as a formal tea set, and a comfortable upholstered chair and ottoman
